My First Life Blog Post
Life Blog Topics
Welcome to my first life blog post. I decided I wanted to have a random post section where I could write about different things. I suspect most of it will be about baking but I have a feeling I will probably end up writing about my house plants and maybe about my current hobby, knitting. I’m sure these posts will change over time and might change into something completely different, but for now, I think they will be simple posts of random things.
I think in this post I kind of just want to write a bit about what I’ve been trying out recently. About a month ago my circumstances changed and I changed jobs to a less time-consuming job. Because of that change, I now have a lot more time to try out new recipes, create my own recipes, and just spend more time in the kitchen in general. I also have been able to improve and perfect my new at-home cottage bakery. I am no stranger to the kitchen, but I can already tell there have been improvements in my culinary skills in the past few months because I have at least three days where I can be in the kitchen for over half a day if I need to. This means I am getting even more experience which is exactly what I wanted.
Taking Photos
Honestly, I was expecting to learn even more about baking and cooking but one thing I did not consider was the fact that I would have to broaden my largely lacking experience with taking photos and videos. This has never been a strong point for me and it never really bothered me before. Now though, I have to be diligent to remember to not only take photos and videos but also take multiple, in case I need more options. I also have learned to take in the lighting and angle of each shot.
My mom is a photographer so I’ve heard her talk about all of these aspects but again, it was not that relevant to me personally. My point in bringing this up is that there is a very high possibility that many of my photos may not be like those amazing Instagram-worthy shots. But really, the whole point of these posts, specifically the life blog posts, is to show my learning and journey process in several areas so that my readers can hopefully learn something as well, or at least laugh with me at any mistakes I make.
Child-Friendly Recipes
One other thing I wanted to mention is that I might start some posts of child-friendly recipes. This applies to the aspect of the recipes being healthier and easier for younger children to eat as well as the aspect of being easy for a toddler to help make the recipe. Currently, my nephew is really enjoying baking with me so I thought I might add that to these posts. These will probably be a mix of recipes that I create as well as some that I have found and want to try with my nephew.
