prepare your brown paper bag, popcorn popper or pan by pouring oil or butter into it and turning it slightly to coat the bottom.
pour the popcorn in and close the bag or place the lid on the popcorn popper or pan.
place the bag in the microwave for two minutes or until the popping seems to slow down. If you are using a pan, place it on the stove top at medium heat and shake the pan every 10 or 20 seconds to help properly heat the kernels.
Once the popcorn is done, remove it from the microwave or stovetop and let it sit for a minute so that popcorn doesn't go flying when you open it.
While the popcorn is popping, pour some oil or butter into a bowl and turn it to coat the bowl.
Add your spices evenly in the bowl.
pour the popcorn into the bowl and add the hot tamale candy and any more spice that you might want to top it off with.
Place the lid or a cover over the bowl and shake it thoroughly to completely cover the popcorn.
Remove the lid and enjoy!
